Currently, I’m the Lead Writer on the project. I oversee and double check everything the writers do before it’s passed into other hands. In the past, I was just a member of the writing team and helped establish the narrative time line, scenarios, decisions, and characters to the point they are at now.

It’s a rare opportunity to be offered to change the world. Even more than that, it’s hard to turn down a job that could possible make a better life for people around the world in the future. It’s still a bit difficult to look at the work I do and comprehend that this is something that could change generations of people for the better, but that’s what all of us are trying to do.

I am insanely proud of the fact that I have been given the chance to be part of this process. I can’t say it hasn’t been rough. There were weeks spent discussing major issues, language barriers to bound over, and countless hours spent wording and rewording sentences and phrases. It’s been that much more rewarding to see those changes and decisions go through after all the hard work we put into it.

I’ve seen the narrative team grow and change, and each time we’ve brought bigger and better ideas to life. I hope we keep evolving in this way, to create the best experience we can.

My name is Alex Gustafson, I’m 22 years old and I’ve taken on the role as one of the main writers for the storyline of BREAKAWAY. I’ve been on the project for 4 months and in that time I have to say that my proudest contribution has been creating narrative events that will strike a chord with those who play it around the world.

Sara Seffels
Position: Writer
MORE [+]

My name is Sara Seffels and I’m twenty-two years old. I actually started working at the EMC as a pixel artist for a different project, but now I currently work as a writer. Mainly, I work with the writing team to write and edit scripts, but I also work with the storyboard team and help communicate to them the intent of the script, the personality of the characters, as well as everything story-related.

I am incredibly happy to be working on this project for a lot of reasons. As a game design major, what more can I ask for than to work on games? Not only that, but I’m getting a focus in Game Writing! To know that my writing could help make someone’s life better, even just a little, is a dream come true. I never thought I would be given the opportunity to do something like this so early in my career and I can only hope that all the careful deliberation, research, and hard work that the team has put into each script can shine through and really have an impact.
